2013, Its gonna be a great year..

I can remember as a kid wanting to build a wood canoe. After not much information being available at local libraries and some less than enthusiastic talks with my dad, I ended up buying a used fiberglass canoe. I spent several years with this old canoe, lord knows how old it was when I got it much less when we parted.

I left this old canoe on my dads farm pond when I moved to Oklahoma City some years back. I don't ever know what happens to it from there, but I do have some fond memories of fishing from it.

Bringing us up to this current year and the desire to build a wooden canoe. Well, dad was right, I would change my mind and no longer want a wooden canoe, I want a wooden kayak,

So at the end of last year first of this year, I started doing research, I came across two books published by Nick Schade. The Strip Built Kayak, and another wooden boat book he has published. Ill attach pics of the books off my kindle.

After reading the books, I feel confident I can build a Home Built Kayak.

So I began my mission of trying to find the perfect sit inside fishing kayak. As many of you know I have two seasons of fishing out of of sit on top kayaks. I have had so much fun in that kayaks we only took our skeeter out one time this past year.

(I know I forgot to upload the trips from last year, but I will work on them in my free time as well.)

I will be posting another topic soon and discuss the kayak I plan to build this year.

Thanks for stopping by and as always,
Be safe and enjoy all the outdoors has to offer.

Team Frazier.

PS, you can go to Amazon, Barnes and Noble or to Nicks website and purchase his books or kayak plans. I will try to link later.
